This is the image for the news article titled Foothills Newsletter June 2017Please enjoy the June 2017 issue of the Foothills Review. We are happily in graduation season. You will read about the special accomplishments of some of our graduates. The regional directors - Mark Channell, Kelly Girtz, Scott Gordon, Melissa Griffin - and I are on the road celebrating each victory. Each site and each student has a story to tell. Graduations are not only for graduates but for their families, the staff, and community. It is a public way to celebrate a major accomplishment by so many. Most of our students never thought that they would ever have a chance to graduate, yet they did. Completing this milestone will alter their paths of opportunity forever.

Last week we passed the number of 2015-2016 graduates. We were quite satisfied having 135 graduates in 2016. We are now at 138 graduates with nearly 3 months left to go! We are so pleased.

We are excited about July 1 when Foothills will have 10 sites (adding Walton Foothills in Monroe and a third corrections site in Buford, GA at Phillips Foothills and transitioning Glynn Foothills to Glynn Coastal Plains). We will also be supporting 6 new sites that formed a new school called Coastal Plains Education Charter High School. We assisted in the application process. We will continue our support by providing training, materials, mentoring, and business operations support. Students in another part of the state will soon have access to this unique opportunity for a second chance to earn a high school diploma through our replication process.

Helping students in Georgia one at a time.
